FRIDAY MARCH 10
We lived off of these signs for the duration of our Tokyo trip and got pretty cozy with the city's awesome Metro
system by the time we were ready to head back to Osaka. On our last morning in town, we took the train
up to the Northeast corner of the city to Asakusa to see Kaminarimon gate and market.
The giant shrine and entrance gate at Kaminarimon. Just past the gate is a long strip of shops selling
funny little souvenirs and stuff. Not funny funny, but like whatever funny.
Here are the aforementioned shops. We saw Lucy Liu walking around here. Actual Lucy Liu. No photo though
cause here entourage was actin' really squirrely.
Riding the Shinkansen back to Osaka.
Chikara picked us up as we got off the train and we couldn't have been happier to see him, tell him all about
Tokyo, and see what he had in store for us for the rest of our time in Japan. He brought us by our hotel so we
could drop off our bags, then took us out to dinner at Kushinoya, a kushikatsu-style restaurant which was
basically an all-you-can-eat Japanese fondue spot. We eat so many shrimp.
After we had loaded up on fried fish, chicken, frankfurters, dumplings, onions, mushrooms, and more, Chikara and
Joe decided to have an udon soup-eating race. Joe put up a good fight, but Chikara housed his bowl in 7 seconds.
Dinner ended and we were all filled to our respective brims with greazy foods on sticks, but we proceeded
onwards to walk through Tower Records and Loft before returning to the hotel, where we watched Trillville
and E-40 DVDs and hung out with Chikara for a bit.
